Katya Usvitsky is a Belarus born artist, currently living & working in Los Angeles.

Her work consists of primarily soft materials and is process oriented, deliberately slow and meditative. She works with organic fiber, nylon and thread to create otherworldly objects reminiscent of cells, eggs, bacteria, cancerous growths and fungi. The work intends to prompt a dialogue about the body. Usvitsky has shown across the U.S. in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, St. Paul, Washington, D.C., Charleston, Savannah, as well as Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm through several artist-run space exchanges. She is currently the Co-Director of Tigers Strikes Asteroid, a Co-Founder of Noysky Projects and High Beams.
