• Ampersand for The New Republic Book and the Arts Section
Commissioned by: Erick Fletes, Creative Director at The New Republic

The Ampersand Series was created during the 2012 redesign of The New Republic under the creative direction of Dirk Barnett. Each issue, the magazine commissions individual artists to create a unique ampersand.

At the studio we made a stop motion animation of the construction of the piece which was used in the iPad version of the The New Republic issue.

Brooklyn Community Supported Art + Design (CSA+D) was New York's first "CSA for art", where shareholders could support local artists and receive artwork on a seasonal basis. For this commission I created 50 unique soft sculptures in sets of three - grey, white, and yellow or pink. The pieces look plantlike and organic, supporting the intention of a CSA as a place for uniquely grown local product.
